The Story
D.C.M Digital is a Durban based post production studio that is owned and operated by Shane D.
The name came about by incorporating the 3 surname initials of the people involved in getting it up and running.
Shane D (that's the D), Sagren Chetty aka "The MixMan" (that's the C) and Shaun Mahabir (that's the M).
Shaun was the technical guru of the bunch, able to build and wire anything, anywhere, anytime. A "Jack Of All Trades", master of all.
Sadly, Shaun passed away of heart failure at age 38 in January 2009.
D.C.M Digital Studios is dedicated to his memory.
The Studio offers various post production services, ranging from MixDowns to Mastering and everything in-between, including
Jingle and Sting recording. It's a completely digital solution, utilising packages including Sonar, Pro-Tools and Wavelab.
All processing is done using some of the best plugin's on the market today, including the Waves package amongst other great products.
Vinyl to CD, as well as Cassette to CD transfers are also part of the services offered by D.C.M Digital.
You have the option of a straight transfer, or a complete re-master to give it that polished finish.
This of course, depends on the quality of the source material submitted ie. a scratched Vinyl or warped Tape would not be an ideal submission.
DJ mix recordings and Mastering for CD's are also offered.
